Job Title: Fleet Sales Manager

A dynamic field sales representative is needed to sell commercial, emergency, and utility service vehicles, in a New York / New Jersey sales territory. The ideal candidate will be a pro-active consultative sales professional that can match individual customer needs with the right products and features. He/she should be versed in commercial fleet utility, public safety, fire, EMS, law enforcement vocations. This is a business-to-business sales opportunity for high dollar capital vehicles and upfitting services sold to municipalities, non-profit organizations, hospitals, and private for-profit businesses. Company is an established leader in this market with strong history and a growing product portfolio.

 This is a salary + commission position with benefits reporting to senior management.

Responsibilities include:
• Engage in pro-active sales efforts including prospecting, networking, cold calling, customer site visits. Support existing accounts and referral relationships.
• Understand various customer agency types (Commercial utility, fleet maintenance, public safety, municipal, etc.)
• Maintain up to date knowledge base on products, options, features for the portfolio of vehicles and equipment offered by the company.
• Maintain working knowledge of local competitor’s products and services.
• Prepare detailed quotations and proposals.
• Respond to competitive procurements such as formal bid and RFP solicitations published by potential customers.
• Gather and maintain market intelligence in the territory on agencies, competitors, funding sources (grants, etc.) regulatory matters.
• Learn and stay current on motor vehicle laws and/or vocational standards requirements set forth by the state, county, or federal agencies.
• Understand specialty equipment carried and used by end-user agencies as it relates to safe storage, convenience of access, security provisions, lighting, temperature control, weight, etc.
• Prepare and execute Sales Agreements and order submission documents.
• Review and verify order confirmations from the manufacturing location.
• Work with end-users to clarify and resolve any discrepancies or technical conflicts.
• Monitor production timelines and manage related communication, customer expectations.
• Ensure that customer is invoiced accurately and on a timely basis.
• Assist in facilitating and participating in final physical delivery to customer(s).
• Ensure that payment is made, and registration documents are issued and correct.
• Document each customer file as needed with notes, photographs, specifications, video.
• Provide regular reports and sales activity information to company leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience / Attributes:
• Related sales and account management experiences to the job description on behalf of a automotive manufacturer, up-fitter, dealership, and/or end-user entity.
• Excellent personal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to product align offerings with customer needs.
• Able to build and sustain recurring account relationships.
• Technical reading comprehension and software / order entry / configurator skills.
• Knowledge of incomplete vehicle conversions, body manufacturing and upfits. 12VDC electric systems a plus.
• Able to work remotely in a sales territory away from HQ office.

Education:
• High school diploma. Additional education a plus.
• Experience in the automotive, fleet management, and two-way radio communications a plus.
• Military, law enforcement, and/or health care, EMS, or fire-rescue experience is valuable.


Requirements / Employer Information:
• Clean, Valid Driver License
• Excellent eyesight and hearing.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs., work in both office and manufacturing floor settings.
• Work to be indoor / outdoor.
• Moderate travel will be required to customer location(s).
• Drug-free workplace.
• Background check required.
• Place of employment is Northern NJ / NYC Metro
